Rising Stars Cleaning provides a professional Hoarder Cleaning and clearance service to business customers (Housing Associations, Drug and alcohol charities, Private Landlords, Solicitors, Local authorities) & individuals.
Hoarding is a mental illness known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) which often unnoticed by the individual doing it – it can range from simply not throwing away any household items or “collecting cats and dogs” in the same way as people collect souvenirs to more extreme cases of not throwing anything out including human waste.
In May 2013 Hoarding Disorder was finally recognised in the DSM-V (the fifth edition of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).
Through experience we have learnt to be empathetic and considerate to the needs of our clients. Hoarding is a serious illness and most hoarders have grown some kind of attachment to their items. We understand this and we aim to make the process as stress free as possible. We even go as far as trying to find homes for everything. Tipping waste into our landfills is not ethical and we refrain from doing this as much as possible. What we do is we bring the items to be sorted back to our premise and then we will try to find alternative solutions.
For example, there are hoarders who hoard books and magazines. We contacted the local schools and libraries and donated them.
Once we have completed the job we are able to refer you on to our Hoarding consultant from Cloudsend specialises in hoarding issues. Cloudsend are able to offer support to social services, housing associations, landlords, Primary Care Trusts and individuals.
Rising Stars Cleaning do not claim to have seen it all, however we have experience in small hoarding issues were our clearance team do not need to get involved right up to larger issues that require to tenant to have to move out when the job is being done. No job is too big or too small.
